Frozen Aperol Spritz

Makes 8 to 10 servings

Come summertime, we think any cocktail can be made better by freezing, and the Aperol Spritz is no exception. Though it is perfect just the way it is, experiment with this recipe to make it just right for you! Add fruit juice, berries, or a splash of soda before you serve to make it authentically spritzed. Store any leftover spritz in the freezer until you're ready to enjoy it again.

Ingredients

  • 1 (750 mL) bottle Prosecco or sparkling wine
  • 1 (750 mL) bottle Aperol
  • Orange slices, for serving

Directions

  1. In a large pitcher or bowl, combine the Prosecco and Aperol. Pour into a large baking dish or several smaller containers and place in the freezer. Freeze at least 8 hours, until the mixture is mostly frozen, but still slightly slushy.
  2. Right before serving, add about 2 cups of ice to a blender and blend to crush the ice. Add the frozen Aperol mixture and blend to combine. Pour into glasses and garnish with orange slices before serving.
