Evangeline: A Night on the Bayou

A CIA Student-Run Charity Dining Event

Get ready to embark on a captivating journey into the heart of Louisiana’s bayou culture with the Culinary Institute of America’s senior class: Evangeline: A Night on the Bayou. This unique and immersive event promises to transport you to a world of charm, mystery, and romance like never before. As you wander through this immersive tapestry of sights and sounds, you’ll find yourself captivated by the rhythm of distant jazz, the tantalizing aroma of Cajun spices, and the soft, velvety touch of twilight on your skin. Picture yourself navigating the moonlit waters of the bayou, guided only by the flickering glow of fireflies, their luminescence casting a soft, golden halo around you.

This event is planned, operated, and executed by the graduating Food Business Management bachelor’s degree students to benefit the Earth Angels Believe Foundation. Their mission is to unite people by helping cancer patients and their families in the Hudson Valley community. “We help cancer patients and their families financially. Funds raised help cover medical bills, food, clothes, travel, and bereavement. By taking these burdens off, cancer patients can concentrate on healing.”

In addition to the Earth Angels Believe Foundation, a portion of the event’s proceeds will go towards the Love for Lade Perry Scholarship. This scholarship was created in memory and in honor of Omolade “Lade” Perry, a 16-year U.S. Navy veteran and student in the CIA bachelor’s degree program, who passed away unexpectedly in March 2022.

Time: Cocktail hour begins at 4 p.m. in the Marriott Pavilion followed by the dinner in Post Road Brew House.
Location: The Culinary Institute of America, 1946 Campus Drive, Hyde Park, NY 12538.
Dress Code: Semi-formal. (Dress or suit paired with an elegant top, complemented by either heels, formal sandals, flats, or formal dress shoes. Alternatively, a sophisticated jumpsuit can be chosen as a suitable ensemble.)
Entertainment: Live entertainment during cocktail hour.
Price: $150 per person, includes reception, five-course dinner, beverages, tax, and service.
Additional Notes: Attendance is limited to 90 guests. CIA gift cards are not redeemable for this event. Allergens and dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Please specify that information on the reservation form.
