Makes 1 cup
This staple vinaigrette comes in handy whether you're dressing lettuce greens, noodles, or even just steamed green beans. The fermented black beans, found at the Asian market or online, add saltiness and a savory depth of flavor, but you can leave them out if you don't have any on hand.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- Pinch of kosher salt
- Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon rinsed and chopped fermented black beans
- Dash Tabasco
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons peanut or other neutral vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Directions
- Combine the vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, salt, pepper, honey, beans, Tabasco, and lemon juice in a small bowl. Slowly whisk in the oils. Refrigerated, this dressing may be stored for up to 1 week.
