Radishes at the farmers' market

Makes 4 servings

Roasting tempers the slightly bitter flavor of the radishes and brings out their natural sweetness. Give this technique a try in your kitchen to add to your repertoire of ways to serve radishes.

Ingredients

  • 2 bunches red radishes, cleaned, tops removed and sliced in half
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more to taste
  • 1/4 cup Ginger, Orange, and Sesame Dressing
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  2. Toss the radishes with the canola oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the radishes cut side down on baking tray coated with cooking spray.
  4. Roast until the sliced sides are golden brown and the radishes are soft, about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and toss with the dressing and chives. Finish with ground black pepper to taste. Serve warm or at room temperature.
