Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI glazed bacon BLT

Makes 1 cup

This sweet and savory glaze is delicious on baked chicken or fish, but we especially like it for a surprisingly sticky-sweet bacon. Partially cook bacon in a 350°F oven, then brush with the glaze, and return to the oven until the bacon is your preferred crispiness. Try the glazed bacon on an Italian-style BLT.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI*

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, mustard, and Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI.
  2. Bring to a simmer and cook until the brown sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside until ready to use.
